MUST STOP SHOPPING IN LOS OLIVOS

Los Olivos, California is a quaint little town that's nestled in the heart of the Santa Ynez Wine Country. When you need a break from all of the wine tasting, these are a couple of stores I would suggest that you should check out...I call it the "Must Stop Shopping List for Los Olivos!"

If you are in the market for home goods, make sure to head to the Wine Country Home store. This is the place to find anything that's related to wine for your home like beautiful wine glasses, a wine rack, fancy bottle corks, or wine openers. There's also other great home goods like place mats, furniture, pretty paintings and some antiques. If you have an outdoor space (like a patio or backyard) where you live, then you will probably love some of their planters and Adirondack chairs...don't worry, they do ship!
Next, visit the Tin Roof Boutique. This women's clothing store has been voted "The Best Clothing Store of the Valley" four years in a row. It's the must stop shop for clothing, shoes, jewelry and accessories.
What I love most about this store is that they carry both well known designer brands like Velvet, C&C California and Ella Moss, but they also have beautiful things made from local designers that you won't find anywhere else...so if you are looking to find a unique necklace, earrings, or a top...this is the spot!
The style of what you will find at the Tin Roof Boutique is very California...easy to wear clothing with lots of basic wardrobe-building pieces, but also lots of fun, colorful and different pieces and tons of fun accessories to complete the look. This store reminded me a lot of one of my all time favorite stores- Anthropologie. I very easily could have done a lot of financial damage in this store...I wanted everything I saw!
Another clothing store in Los Olivos that is worth paying a visit to when you are there is Details Fine Women's Apparel. I have to say that I was a bit skeptical at first if I would find anything that I like in this store, (I thought it catered more to something my mom would be in the market for than me) but I am so glad that I went in because they carry beautiful clothing, jewelry and handbags. If you are looking for some classic pieces like a "go-to" sweater, or a wrap or shawl, you will certainly find it here.

Los Olivos is a charming and historic town, so even if shopping is not your thing, make sure to go if you are in this neck of the woods, because there's also wine tasting shops, art galleries, and great restaurants. Los Olivos has now become one of my most favorite spots that I have jet setted to!

SIX FUN-FILLED DAYS IN CALI

Hi there Jet Setters! I have just returned from six fun-filled days in Southern California! (Just in time for all of this snow in New York, huh?) But, I can't complain one bit because I saw so much and have loads to share with you all. I incorporated a little bit of city, a little beach and relaxation, and also the wine country (not Napa) on my trip. I started out in Los Angeles where I checked out a bunch of great hotels including the Andaz West Hollywood, the Tower Beverly Hills, the Hollywood Roosevelt, and the Century Plaza. I also tried some wonderful restaurants I can't wait to tell you about. From there I spent some time in Palos Verdes at the incredible Terranea Resort & Spa...And finished up in Santa Inez Wine Country! I saw a lot, I ate a lot, I shopped in some great stores, and put my head on some incredibly comfortable pillows at some cool hotels...this was a great way to spend six days for sure! I am working on uploading the pictures and getting all my information together...so stay tuned for more Jet Set Smart LA, Palos Verdes and Santa Inez in the coming days!

EVERYONE NEEDS A LITTLE NAPA

Napa Valley is one of my all time favorite destinations in the U.S. I went out there a couple of years ago with one of my best friends and had an amazing time, but swore to myself that the next time I go it will definitely have to be with my husband. Napa is just so romantic. So when we do book our trip, the place where I want us to stay is The Wine Country Inn & Gardens.

The Wine Country Inn has been around since 1975 and is family owned and operated...I just love that because you always get the warmth and attention you deserve when you stay at a place like this. The inn is built well off the highway and is surrounded by vineyards. They have a pool, jacuzzi, spa, complimentary breakfast & afternoon appetizers as well as a free restaurant shuttle to take you into town so that you can relax, drink wine and not have to worry about driving. Rooms range from $250-$600 a night, depending on which room you choose and what time of year you jet set to Napa valley.

The Holidays are around the corner, so now is the perfect time to go...and take a look at the great things happening there this time of year:

October: There are still many days in the 80's & 90's temperature-wise...so take your bathing suit and enjoy the Napa Valley grape harvest while you're there.
November: The Inn holds its annual Ode to Olive celebration (November 19th-22nd) where you can taste different olives, olive oils and cheeses.
December: Head there for a romantic New Year's Eve celebration with your honey. They have a special dinner for $75 per person which includes a four-course meal with wine right at the inn...and also a complimentary champagne toast at midnight.
