FASHION FRIDAY: CASUAL CHIC

(Sorry, totally forgot to post this yesterday! ;-)  TGIF!!!  So happy for the weekend and the warm, beautiful forecast in store!  This outfit is a perfect casual chic look for the weekend or a date night look.  This past week temperatures were cooler, so I put on this long sleeve top that I got at Goldy and Mac boutique in the town of Greenport out on the North Shore of Long Island, NY (one of my favorite stores out there).  I love it because it's lightweight, and has long bell sleeves, so it's good for a spring look, but keeps me warmer in the cooler temperatures.  This top would look great with a tight skirt too, but in keeping it casual, I paired it with jeans, my favorite caged heels, and some fun Stella & Dot accessories.  Can't wait to enjoy some time at the beach this weekend!  What are all you jet setters doing this weekend?

Top: Goldy and Mac Boutique (old, but similar here and here)
Jeans: Calvin Klein via T.J. Maxx
Shoes: DV by Dolce Vita via Nordstrom (on sale!!!)
Necklace: Stella & Dot
Earrings: Stella & Dot
Bracelet: Stella & Dot
Clutch: Stella & Dot
Sunnies: Ray-Ban via Nordstrom (on sale!!!)

GOLDY + MAC

In honor of Cyber Monday, I wanted to let you know about a great store I came across when I was in the town of Greenport on the North Fork of Long Island- GOLDY + MAC.
Their story goes like this:  Two friends (Owners Ashley Gold and Susan MacInerney) who are very fashionable and love to shop realize that there isn't much out there unless they spend a lot of money or buy their clothes from stores teenagers shop in.  Those two friends are disappointed by this.  Those two friends turn that disappointment into a business GOLDY+MAC...a fashionable store for those in their 20's, 30's and 40's that won't break the bank! You can find tops, bottoms, coats and blazers, handbags, jewelry and other accessories too.
GOLDY + MAC opened its first store in Park Slope, Brooklyn.   There are now two Brooklyn locations and one in Greenport, New York.  I got a chance to speak to Owner Susan MacInerney for a little bit while I was there. She's adorable!  She is a mom of three and lives in L.A., but is always on the East Coast picking out great things for her stores.  She helped me pick out a cute top for myself (see below) and a fabulous bracelet as a gift for hubby's goddaughter.  What I love most about GOLDY + MAC is that they are really affordable (most tops range from $50-$100 with a lot even less than that), they are trendy, and they always have new stuff.  I highly recommend checking out this store if you jet set to Brooklyn or to the North Fork of Long Island soon.  I know I will be back for sure!

NORTH FORK FOR THE FOURTH!

Hi All! Hope you jet setters had a Happy Fourth of July! This weekend for a fun getaway for the 4th of July, I jet setted (really went by car) to the North Fork of Long Island in New York. The North Fork has its own wine country, which is surrounded by rustic beauty, the Peconic Bay and the Long Island Sound. There are 11 small towns and villages located on the North Fork, or the east-end of Long Island. The North Fork is approximately 80 miles east of Manhattan and includes: Aquebogue, Jamesport, Laurel, Mattituck, New Suffolk, Cutchogue, Peconic, Southold, Greenport, East Marion and Orient. This past weekend, I stayed in the town of Greenport in a place called The Cliffside Resort, which is a Condominium complex that rents out small apartments with kitchen efficiencies. The room has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, but also has a pull-out couch, so the place can sleep six. I got a room with a balcony which faced the Long Island Sound. The Cliffside Resort also has a pool, a private beach, and is dog friendly. For $429 a night (for 6 people), I thought this was a Jet Set Smart idea for sure, especially on a holiday weekend. I spent the weekend checking out a bunch of different wineries and restaurants that I can't wait to share with you all...so stay tuned!
