ASPEN...WE'RE READY FOR YA!

Hey there everyone!!!  Boy has it been awhile since I've posted here!!! It has been a busy and fun summer for sure!  I have so much to catch you all up on including a fun road trip we made out to the North Fork of Long Island, and an incredible vacation to Walt Disney World in Florida!  In the meantime, Rich and are getting ready to jet set to Aspen, Colorado for my very good friend's wedding.  It will be the first time we are going somewhere without the boys...and we are both so sad about it, but know it will be fun just the two of us!  Well, I have to get back to packing, but don't forget to follow along on Instagram!  Wheels up...Aspen we're ready for ya! ;-)

WARDROBE WEDNESDAY: BLACK AND WHITE

How can you ever go wrong with black and white?  Am I right?  Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love color, but sometimes a little black and white with just a pop of color can go a long way.  If you follow my Instagram account, you may have already seen me wear this dress when Rich and I had a date night and went to our friend's house for dinner in the city.  I knew we would be doing a lot of walking around the city both before and after dinner so I went for these gladiators sandals which are so comfy and on sale too!  I also love maxi dresses, and this one that I picked up recently is 100% cotton and feels like you are wearing pajamas.  It will be perfect to wear all summer long, or be great as a beach cover-up, and it will even transition well into fall with a denim jacket.  I love being "smart" about how I spend my money on clothes, and these pieces are not only affordable, but I know I'll get my money's worth out of them.  That's Jet Set Smart fashion!  Happy Hump Day!

FASHION FRIDAY: CASUAL CHIC

(Sorry, totally forgot to post this yesterday! ;-)  TGIF!!!  So happy for the weekend and the warm, beautiful forecast in store!  This outfit is a perfect casual chic look for the weekend or a date night look.  This past week temperatures were cooler, so I put on this long sleeve top that I got at Goldy and Mac boutique in the town of Greenport out on the North Shore of Long Island, NY (one of my favorite stores out there).  I love it because it's lightweight, and has long bell sleeves, so it's good for a spring look, but keeps me warmer in the cooler temperatures.  This top would look great with a tight skirt too, but in keeping it casual, I paired it with jeans, my favorite caged heels, and some fun Stella & Dot accessories.  Can't wait to enjoy some time at the beach this weekend!  What are all you jet setters doing this weekend?

WARDROBE WEDNESDAY: THE MAXI SKIRT

Oh, how I love a good maxi!  Maxi skirts and even dresses are my absolute favorite go-to pieces in the spring and summer.  They are so lightweight and can be dressed up or down.  I found this skirt at T.J. Maxx recently and fell in love with the color, the print and the price...it was $16.99!  I wore this to a friend's casual backyard BBQ party recently, and decided to keep it simple with a black t-shirt, a denim jacket, and then I added some fun colorful accessories.  What are some of your favorite wardrobe go-to pieces for spring and summer?

FASHION FRIDAY: STRIPED TUNIC

Today I wanted to talk about my love for tunics.  I've mentioned before how great they are because they are long enough to cover your backside (all you mama's out there know what I'm talking about), and they look great paired with leggings or jeans.  I am also striped obsessed!  Especially in the spring and summer, I think stripes are so nautical, so classy, and they never go out of style.  So when I found this top at Anthropologie I was in love because it's a tunic and it's striped, and it was on sale...three for three!!!  I paired it with dark denim washed jeans here, but I can't wait to wear this top again with white jeans over the summer.  Go grab one before it's gone!  This new bucket bag from Old Navy is another one of my new obsessions- I use it all of the time.  I grabbed this bag a couple of weeks ago when they were having a sale for just $20 (usually sells for $29- still not bad).  It looks like a Coach bag which retails for about 20x the price!  You can't beat a smart style steal when you see one!  Happy Friday jet setters!  I hope you all have a fabulous weekend planned.

WARDROBE WEDNESDAY: EASTER LACE AND FAMILY LOVE

Easter Sunday with the boys was so much fun!  They were so excited to get a visit from the Easter bunny which included baskets filled with candies, toys, and clothes and a new stroller from the grandparents!  Celebrations started Saturday at home and continued into Sunday with cousins and family.

The weather was sunny and warm and it was the perfect time to wear some new spring clothing.  I loved having the boys in matching outfits, and we all wore a fun springy color...pink!

I wore a white lace midi skirt which I know I will wear all summer long.  I love white lace for spring and summer, and this feminine blouse, jewelry and heels were perfect to wear with it for the holiday.  But, I can't wait to wear this skirt again with a t-shirt and sandals and a denim shirt and booties.  Hope you all had a nice holiday with your family and friends!

FASHION: ROSES AND DOTS

I don't usually post outfit pictures on Thursdays, but the weather is great today (the sun is shining and it actually feels like spring), so I couldn't help myself!  Everything in the stores lately seems to have roses and dots on it and so I thought I would mix the two prints together.  I've had this cardigan for a long time, so adding a new top, jeans and some accessories helps give it life and makes it feel new again.  I also have to talk about this amazingly fabulous Sira & Mara cuff (which is now back in stock...yay!), it's the perfect bracelet to add to any outfit.  The mix of gold, roses and sparkle make it the best arm party in town!  Happy Thursday!  I promise to have more travel posts next week!

JET SET NAUTICAL

Old man winter really gave us a lot of snow in New York and New Jersey this week, and so I am dreaming about warmer weather and all things nautical.  After yesterday's post where I wore a nautical looking striped dress, I figured I would continue with that trend and highlight some of the new stuff from Stella & Dot's spring collection. (Remember, I'm a stylist for Stella & Dot, so feel free to ask me about any pieces that you like).  The bracelet, scarf and bag are all from Stella & Dot, and I think they are great pieces to use now and into spring.  Each piece in this set is under $100, and some is under $50.  The trick is to wear something nautical in the winter, and keep your fingers crossed that it will get warmer fast!
