FIRST TRIP TO YANKEE STADIUM

Happy Monday everyone!  Hope you all had a great weekend!  This weekend we did something I have been wanting to do for the longest time now...we went to see the Yankees play at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx!  (They lost to the Baltimore Orioles...boo...but, even still it was an amazing day)!
The new stadium has been there for five years already, so it's hard to believe it has taken us so long to get there, but nevertheless, we made it.  We also took Richie which was such a highlight because it was so much fun to see him at his first baseball game.

As for the stadium, I was impressed at how big it is, and how nice it is set up.  We got our tickets very last minute and sat in the 300 section which I thought was going to feel like nose-bleed seats.  But, to our surprise, the seats were great and we would probably sit there again next time!  In fact, I really don't think the way the stadium is set up that there could be a bad seat in the house (with the exception of outfield).

As for the food, I had heard about the steak sandwiches from Lobel's and the Garlic Fries so I knew we had to try them.  Lobel's is a butcher shop in New York and now has a few stands at Yankee Stadium.  Their steak sandwich is hand-carved to order and comes on a sweet and buttery bun with a bit of gravy.  The sandwich is $15 which is not cheap, but let me tell you, it is definitely worth the price!  As the best side (in my opinion), go for the garlic fries which come with fresh garlic and parsley on them...a garlic lover's dream come true!  Next time I want to try the eggplant and mozzarella sandwiches at Rich Torrisi and Mario Carbone's Parm.  Yankee Stadium definitely has more options that just hot dogs and pretzels (yes, they have that too if that's what you crave).
As for what I wore to the game...well, of course it had to be blue and white....team colors!  I have had my eye on this kimono from H&M for the longest time now, but didn't want to spend $50 for it.  Well, H&M just had a great sale and I got it for $15!  I wasn't thinking about getting it to wear to the game when I got it, but the colors were just perfect.  I added some pops of neon green in my necklace and sandals, and was comfy and showed my team pride!  I definitely look forward to seeing more games in the near future!

FASHION FRIDAY: CASUAL CHIC

(Sorry, totally forgot to post this yesterday! ;-)  TGIF!!!  So happy for the weekend and the warm, beautiful forecast in store!  This outfit is a perfect casual chic look for the weekend or a date night look.  This past week temperatures were cooler, so I put on this long sleeve top that I got at Goldy and Mac boutique in the town of Greenport out on the North Shore of Long Island, NY (one of my favorite stores out there).  I love it because it's lightweight, and has long bell sleeves, so it's good for a spring look, but keeps me warmer in the cooler temperatures.  This top would look great with a tight skirt too, but in keeping it casual, I paired it with jeans, my favorite caged heels, and some fun Stella & Dot accessories.  Can't wait to enjoy some time at the beach this weekend!  What are all you jet setters doing this weekend?
