NYC'S FOOD TRUCK FRENZY EVENT

What are you doing for lunch today? Well, get ready to line up for some delicious food-to-go! If white napkin, sit down service is your thing, then don't read on any further. But, if you are open to trying something that's quick and cheap and oh so good, then have we got the event for you! Today is NYC's Zagat Food Truck Frenzy- a chance for New Yorkers (at least those who aren't afraid to eat food out of something that drives around on four wheels) to sample some of the city's BEST food trucks. There will be everything you can think of- from Mexican, to Waffles and even Chinese! More than 20 food trucks in total will dish out their best stuff- and for just a few bucks you will be able to try it all. So what are you waiting for?

MY TOP FIVE BAKERIES IN THE WORLD

One of the best parts of traveling the world is getting to taste all of the delicious dishes out there. Savory specialties are always good, but who doesn't love something sweet? Jet setters always ask me where to go for a sugary treat when they are jetting around the globe, so I decided to share a list of my favorite bakeries in the world (in no particular order)!

1. Sandholt in Reykjavik, Iceland

You can find this spot right on Laugavegur- Reykjavik's main shopping street. It's been around since 1920, and for good reason! Head here for some of the best chocolates, hand-crafted cakes, pastries and bread- it is considered one of the best spots in all of Europe, and should definitely not be missed during a trip to this very cool city!

2. Medialunas Calientitas in La Barra & Jose Ignacio, UruguayYou must try their half moon croissants which are brushed with sweet butter and served warm (you will think you've died and gone to heaven)! This is the perfect spot to head to for breakfast, a sugary after beach quick bite, or for a late night snack. By the way, this place is coming soon to New York City and Los Angeles!

3. TavolaCalda in Capri, ItalyThe isle of Capri is famous for its lemons! You can't talk about Capri or visit without trying something made from lemons. No joke, the island even smells like one giant lemon! TavolaCalda has delicious pastries, but for a real taste of Capri, head here for the lemon cookies...Capri in every bite!

4. Panisol Bakery in Cascais, PortugalThis bakery/cafe is definitely a hidden, secret and "in the know" spot. Only the locals know about it! It's a great place to stop for coffee and pastries. The best loved pastry in all of Portugal is the pasteis de nata- a flaky pastry with custard filling topped with powdered sugar and cinnamon...mmmm!

5. Cafe Sacher in Salzburg, AustriaThis place is famous for none other than the original Sacher-Torte! This has been the most famous cake in the world for the last 175 years! It's a chocolate cake which is thinly coated (by hand) with apricot jam, and topped with chocolate icing. The cake comes with a side of unsweetened whipped cream. And when in Austria, you must wash it down with a "Wiener Melange" (coffee with milk)! It is heaven on earth...I promise!

MUNICH'S FAMED HOFBRAUHAUS

"When in Rome do as the Romans do," and when in Munich...Do the Hofbrauhaus! Yes, it's touristy, but a visit to this incredible European city wouldn't be complete without it (even if you're not chugging! ;). It is one of Munich's oldest, largest and most famous beer halls. From the moment the doors open at 9:00am until they close at midnight, the atmosphere is like a non-stop and very rowdy party filled with mostly tourists, but a lot of locals too. It's also one of the few Beer Gardens that has live Oompah music during lunch and dinner...talk about a fun way to experience the culture here!They do serve food, but I would recommend just going for a liter of beer and a gigantic German pretzel...you'll be set!
